Frequently Asked Questions.

I am a Pediatric Endocrinology Fellow; can I still apply for the program?

Diabetes Dialog Program is designed for Adult Endocrinology Fellows. We hope to extend our program in the future for Pediatric Endocrinology Fellows too. You are welcome to send us a message to show your interest, we believe diabetes technology education can be very helpful for you too but you should know that all expenses will be on your own.

I am a 100% research fellow; can I still apply for the program?

Diabetes Dialog is a clinical program, so we think mostly clinical program attendees will benefit from the program.

I will be a graduate from a fellowship program in October 2024, can I still attend?

You should be a fellow during the conference (October 2024). While there is no restriction for first, second or third-year fellows, you must still be active in your fellowship program during October 2024.

Can more than one fellow from the same fellowship program can attend?

We encourage you to all to apply. We prefer diversity, but we may allow more than one fellow per program, as our budget and your program director allow.

My fellowship program only allows educational programs if there is no direct sponsorship, can I still attend to the program?

Diabetes Dialog is supported by industry with educational grants given to University of Colorado. Industry firms have no effect on our program. They supply diabetes technologies for educational purposes only. We use our own educational booklets, materials and will not be using any company handouts etc. There are no advertisements, vendors, or company representatives in the program. All faculty members independently prepare their talk and program directors prepare course materials bias-free. Regardless of a company’s support, we still teach about and demonstrate all available FDA approved diabetes technologies in US. In 2019, all diabetes technology companies that have an FDA approved product supported our program with an educational grant.

Since this is a university educational program, so far, all fellowship programs allowed attendance. You can check your institution rules.

Any preference for University or Community-based hospital programs?

Previously, from east to west, university and community-based program fellows attended Diabetes Dialog. You are welcome to attend regardless of your location and program within the United States.

My flight ticket is over $600, can I still get it reimbursed?

Reimbursement for flight tickets is only for Adult Endocrinology Fellows. Only economy class flight tickets will be reimbursed up to $700. If your ticket exceeds $700, the rest of the portion is your personal expense. Business class tickets will never be reimbursed even if value is less than $700.

Is airport transportation reimbursed?

Airport transportation will be covered in Denver. On Thursday we will pay for reasonable Uber/ Lyft expenses from the airport to the hotel, and on Sunday we will provide a shuttle from the conference center to the airport. NO transportation from your local home or your local airport will be covered.

I have certain food allergies can you accommodate my requests?

Meals will be shared, so unfortunately, we can’t accommodate food allergies but there will be always be a vegetarian option.

I want to bring my spouse/child/family, can I still attend?

You are welcome to bring your family to Denver, Colorado, however, we can’t allow anyone other than the conference participant at the conference venue. If you will stay with your family, you are responsible for your own transportation/hotel arrangements.

Are their any sponsors for Diabetes Dialog program?

Our 2018 program was 100% sponsored by The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, Adult Clinic. Since 2019, to accept more fellows (since we reimburse all expenses), we accepted industry support. Currently our program is supported by industry sponsors by educational grants through University of Colorado. There is no influence of sponsors throughout the program and there are no vendors or advertisements allowed in the conference. Our supporters are mentioned elsewhere, such as in the website and subject to change annually. Supporters also supply the CGM, pumps, insulin etc. for educational purposes. Our program is in 100% compliance with University of Colorado rules and regulations. See our Past Sponsor’s List Here.

I am a diabetes technology/diabetes firm representative, can you also include us for sponsorship?

Please email us directly. We follow the rules and regulations of University of Colorado and all payments are directly made to University of Colorado through an educational grant based on the university’s rules. We don’t allow any outside educational material, advertisements, vendors/company representatives during the program. There will be no interaction between fellows and industry representatives and no influence on the program or slides. We welcome your FDA approved diabetes product for educational purposes to use in the program.
